LEGO has created the first full-size and driveable car made completely out of its bricks.

The toy company’s bright blue replica Bugatti Chiron facsimile was created using more than a million Lego Technic elements.

Powering the car are 2,304 motors and 4,032 gears, and the vehicle weight about 1.5 tonnes.

It is capable of just over 12mph which doesn’t compete with the real Chiron’s 261mph top speed.

Experts at Lego spent 13,438 hours developing and constructing the car which as well as being driveable has functioning lights, a retractable rear wing, speedometer and removable steering wheel.

Lena Dixen, senior vice-president of product and marketing for the Lego Group, said: “For over 40 years, Lego Technic has allowed fans of all ages to test their creativity with a building system that challenges them to go beyond just creating new designs – to also engineer new functions.
