Fine dining is dead. Long live posh casual.
That’s the word from some of the city’s top restaurant operators as a raft of new Perth venues open with a focus on sophisticated, casual dining.
The flagship Print Hall restaurant in the city’s Print Hall dining complex will open on Monday as the rebranded Gazette Osteria.
Owners Colonial Leisure Group closed the door on the restaurant nearly two years ago and bided their time while they “waited for clear direction from the Perth marketplace”.
“It was worth the wait,” Colonial chief executive Grady Patching said.
“Our fine dining offer was unsustainable in Perth and Gazette is a strategic move to a more casual, accessible offer. It’s still a premium experience, but more fun, more casual.”
